The construction process began with the demolition of an existing 1940’s style single storey residence. Excavations on-site were conducted predominately in rock with the twenty-two metre in-ground lap pool having to be carved.
The house design features a single nine metre high by twenty-three metre long off-form concrete wall through the spine of the building, suspended concrete floors throughout, exposed structural steel elements and customised zinc panelling to the walls & eaves.
Other key aspects to the success of this building are commercial double glazing (argon filled core between two layers of 10.38mm glass), curved plasterboard ceilings, solid hardwood flooring, decking and wall panelling.
